Joie Bianco is a 23-year-old jazz singer, teacher, and arranger from Staten Island, New York. She is known for her sweet yet warm tone, reminiscent of jazz greats like Ella Fitzgerald and Dinah Washington. While Joie draws much of her musical inspiration from jazz masters such as Roy Eldridge and Nat King Cole, she also enjoys singing other genres like Gospel and R&B.

Currently, Joie is pursuing her graduate studies at the Manhattan School of Music, where she studies under Theo Bleckmann and Jean Baylor. She has appeared in many of NYC's renowned jazz and cabaret clubs, including Jazz at Lincoln Center, Birdland, Carnegie Hall, and The Aman. Joie has also performed at various venues across Texas, such as Monks Jazz, Jazz Texas, and Parker Jazz Club.

In 2019, Joie won the jazz vocal category in the YoungArts competition and, in 2023, received the DownBeat Student Music Award for Best Solo Jazz Vocalist. Her critical acclaim includes a review from Stephen Holden of the New York Times, who described her as a “prodigious discovery.”

She has collaborated with many jazz luminaries, including Marilyn Maye, Jane Monheit, and Joey Calderazzo. Additionally, she has worked with other respected New York musicians like Emmet Cohen, Bryan Carter, Benny Benack III, and more.

While Joie loves performing solo, she can also be found singing around the city with her vocal trio, The Sunhouse Singers. This versatile trio, composed of jazz singers Kate Kortum, June Cavlan, and Joie Bianco, has performed at notable venues like Birdland, Chris' Cafe, Zinc Bar, Mezzrow, Smalls, and The Django.
